The Florence Nightingale
Foundation funds scholarships for nurses, midwives and health visitors to study
at home and abroad, to promote innovation in practice, and to extend knowledge
and skills to meet changing needs. These funds are provided through the
investment of the Foundation's own funds.
Many of the
scholarships are individually and generously sponsored and bear the name of the
sponsoring organisation. The Foundation manages the process of selection and
the monitoring of the outcome of the awards. WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE INFLUENTIAL IN THE

In 2003, Being awarded a Florence Nightingale Travel Scholarship has changed my life within care of elderly people and has led to improvements in person centred care of older people in long term settings.
