All of
these must involve clinically focused research and be academically supervised.
Applicants must have had at least one year
post-registration experience and have current clinical links.
References will be taken up both from the applicant's current clinical
manager and from the academic supervisor/course leader.
On completion of the course or period of research, the Foundation will
require a written report from the Scholar confirming the study undertaken and
the value and contribution it has made to their professional practice.
The selection process takes place in September for Scholars
undertaking their course or period of research during the forthcoming academic
year.

The Foundation can only consider applications
to enable candidates to undertake a course in research methods an
evidence-based practice module or a research based component of a graduate
programme, or a research dissertation.
Due to limited resources, these are the only
courses funded by the Foundation.
The Foundation cannot pay for replacement staff costs or for
unpaid study leave while the Scholar is undertaking the study, nor can a
scholarship be awarded retrospectively.
