Band Trust Research Scholarships

Up Travel Research Funding How to Apply Leadership

" I would encourage all nurses to apply for these scholarships. The Band Trust Research Scholarships enable me to develop a deeper interest in research which I can now apply in my practice area"
( Angela Knight Jackson, Scholar).

All of these must involve clinically focused research and be academically supervised.

Applicants must have had at least one year post-registration experience and have current clinical links.

References will be taken up both from the applicant's current clinical manager and from the academic supervisor/course leader.

On completion of the course or period of research, the Foundation will require a written report from the Scholar confirming the study undertaken and the value and contribution it has made to their professional practice.

The selection process takes place in September for Scholars undertaking their course or period of research during the forthcoming academic year.

The Foundation can only consider applications to enable candidates to undertake a course in research methods an evidence-based practice module or a research based component of a graduate programme, or a research dissertation.
Due to limited resources, these are the only courses funded by the Foundation.

The Foundation cannot pay for replacement staff costs or for unpaid study leave while the Scholar is undertaking the study, nor can a scholarship be awarded retrospectively.
