Current registration with the NMC or Health Professions Council
Evidence of personal involvement in formulating or implementing
nursing/health policy to ensure excellence in clinical care.
Identifiable involvement in workforce planning, with links to
educational establishments to guarantee safe patient care.
Evidence of personal involvement in clinical governance, audit,
complaints procedures and quality of patient care.
Awareness/knowledge on how national and local political decisions
impact on the delivery of healthcare through involvement
or membership of:
Health Department
Government/Strategic Health Authority Committee
Working Party
Patient Focus Group.
Understanding and appreciation of business practice, public expectations,
corporate governance and their impact on patient care.
Proof of commitment to the values and future of their profession,
including involvement in Professional Organisations and the
International Healthcare Agenda.
Evidence of ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and ensure that
quality care is guaranteed for the benefit of patients and clients.
Evidence of a recent personal development/assessment plan, including
identification of development needs and the ability to explore appropriate
leadership programmes.
Supporting letter from the Chairman of Chief Executive of your organisation
agreeing study leave for 2013 and the commitment to provide 10% of the
award made by The Foundation.
Expectations on award of all the Foundation’s scholarships: -
Report quarterly to The Foundation with a full report on completion of the scholarship
Agree to publish an article in a professional journal arising from the scholarship within 18 months of completion
Be willing to present at conferences, seminars etc, on the outcomes of the scholarship
