Provide a real opportunity to study practice elsewhere in the UK and/or overseas to enhance patient/user care in the UK.
These scholarships, which are available to all British and Commonwealth nurses and midwives currently registered with the NMC and working in the UK, are awarded for projects connected with the applicant's field of work and which will benefit their patients/users and the professions more widely.
We are particularly interested in applications to study best practice in: any aspect of dignified care; nutrition/hydration; long term conditions; and any clinical practice issues which enhance the patient or user experience.
Travel Scholarships are funded up to £5,000 for the scholar to undertake a study on an aspect of practice and/or education in the UK or overseas.
There are also Scholarships available as a result of a partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust with the help of the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation. These are for nurses working in the clinical specialty of teenage cancer within an organisation providing NHS funded care anywhere in the UK.
Applications for 2012-13 Scholarships will open on 2nd April 2012 and close on 3rd August 2012
