The Travel
Scholarships are awarded for projects which are connected with the
applicant’s field of work and which will benefit their patients/clients and
the professions more widely.
These
scholarships are available to all British and Commonwealth Nurses and
Midwives who have a current registration with NMC and are working in the UK.
Candidates
should have at least two years’ professional experience subsequent to
registration. Applications from those at the developmental stage of their
career are particularly welcome.
The amount
awarded to each individual will depend on the scope of the project to be
undertaken, its length and the country or countries proposed for the
particular study. The study may be carried out in the UK, in an overseas
country or countries, or a combination of both.
Study leave
must be a minimum of 3-4 weeks. A report (which will be made available to
the professions) is required within 4 months of commencing the study leave.

It is regretted that money is not available for courses
or for attendance at conferences. Nor can we pay for replacement staff
costs or for unpaid study leave while the scholar is undertaking the study.
